Canadian Food for Children has issued this request: They have received a generous donation of materials and have quilters eager to make up warm, comfortable quilts for kids and families worldwide. They are in need of innards for fillers for the middle of the quilts. Real quilt batting is expensive. While spring house cleaning, if you have any of the following items to donate, please bring them to the April General Meeting or drop them off at the Canadian Food for Children Depot on Guelph Street in Kitchener. The items needed are: old flannelette blankets thin in the middle but top/bottom/sides are still OK; blankets that have raggedy ribbon trim; quilts that great granny made that are thin and holey; bedspreads (quilted, chenille, whatever); quilted mattress pads (never mind the stains); old beach towels, big bath towels; anything else that is big and still has some useful areas (they do not accept husbands) - the only really important thing is that the items are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.
